Not a mug. A whole book.

Every page is written for the person you're giving it to — not a template with their name swapped in.

Tell us their backstory, traits, and the jokes only you'd know. We outline a full novel, then draft it chapter by chapter — they're always the hero.

A coverthat's really them

Upload a few photos and we illustrate a genre-styled cover portrait — recognizably them, not a generic stock hero.

THE TUESDAY RULE3

Chapter I

They had a rule about Tuesdays. Nobody else knew it — it was the kind of private law you only write with the person who knows you best. The coffee went cold while they argued about the correct way to load a dishwasher, and then, as always, they both pretended to forget who had won.

CHAPTER ONE4

By the second page the jokes only you two share are already in the plot. A nickname from college. The way they take a corner too fast. The thing they always order and never finish. By the last chapter, they are the hero of a story that could not have been about anyone else.

An example of the voice. Yours is written from the photos, traits, and inside jokes you give us — about 200 pages of it.

Good to know.

How long is the book, really?

Around 25,000–40,000 words, typeset to roughly 200 pages in a standard trade-paperback trim. That's a real novel, not a pamphlet with their name on the cover.

Will it actually sound like them?

It's built from what you tell us — their backstory, traits, and inside jokes — not a mad-libs template. The more specific you are, the more it sounds like them.

How long does it take?

A full novel takes longer than a comic. We'll email you as the outline, cover, and chapters come together, then again when the PDF is ready or the printed book has shipped.

What if I only want the PDF?

The digital tier is the same book, delivered as a PDF — no shipping, no physical copy. Every print order includes that PDF as well.

Can I preview it before it prints?

Every book goes through our own review before it's finalized and sent to print or delivered digitally. You'll hear from us as it comes together.

What photos work best?

1–5 clear photos where the face is well-lit and unobstructed. Phone photos are perfect. Avoid sunglasses, heavy filters, and group shots where we'd have to guess who the hero is.

What happens to the photos?

They're used only to illustrate the cover portrait — never for marketing or training. You can request deletion any time by emailing sales@theheroink.com.

Is this okay to do for someone else?

Yes — that's the whole idea. Just make sure you have their okay to use the photos.

What if something's not right?

Every book passes a human quality review before it reaches you. If something still looks off after delivery, reply to your confirmation email and a real person will sort it out.
